Sanctuary's Turkey Express Delivers Four Lucky Birds to Woodstock
Farm Animal Sanctuary
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Woodstock, NY November 3, 2006 Escorted via Farm Sanctuarys Turkey Express vehicle, today, four turkeys will join Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary as its newest members. These birds will be honored in a special cruelty-free ThanksLiving feast and celebration scheduled for Sunday, November 19 at the Woodstock, New York, sanctuary. Farm Sanctuarys Turkey Express adoptions are part of its national Adopt-A-Turkey Project, now in its 21st year.
Susie Coston, Farm Sanctuarys New York Shelter director, who will deliver the turkeys to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary said, This delivery kicks off the first of many Turkey Express deliveries we have planned for the Adopt-A-Turkey Project throughout November. To travel across the country and meet so many compassionate individuals willing to take these stunning birds into their homes and sanctuaries is a heartwarming reminder of the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
We couldnt be happier to welcome these four birds into our sanctuary, said Jenny Brown, director of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Our turkeys are free roamers around the farm which keeps them healthy and allows them to greet all of our visitors as they tour the sanctuary grounds. People are forever changed when they meet these unexpected converters who reveal their gentle and sweet personalities and teach us all to respect life, in all its glorious forms.
Through Farm Sanctuarys Adopt-A-Turkey Project, Families can choose to adopt turkeys into their homes while others may decide to adopt turkeys who live at Farm Sanctuary through sponsorship donations. Those interested in adopting turkeys can contact shelter@farmsanctuary.org. Anyone interested in sponsoring a turkey, can register at http://www.adoptaturkey.org or call 1-888-SPONSOR. People interested in sponsoring one or more of the four turkeys who will live out their lives at the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary can go to www.woodstocksanctuary.org or call 845-679-5955. Note to Media: Photos of these turkeys and others living at Farm Sanctuary and Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary are available by request.
