FARM SANCTUARY’S TURKEY EXPRESS DELIVERS TWO LUCKY BIRDS TO A COUPLE IN MILLIS, MA

Turkeys Saved from the Thanksgiving Dinner Table to Spend the Rest of Their Lives in Peace

Millis, MA – November 21, 2006 – Escorted via Farm Sanctuary’s Turkey Express vehicle, two turkeys will arrive at the home of Drucilla Robert and Nick Semine on Tuesday, November 21 at 6:00 p.m., to live out their lives safe from the Thanksgiving dinner table. Crumpet and Fern will be delivered via the Turkey Express – part of Farm Sanctuary’s national Adopt-A-Turkey Project, now in its 21st year.

Kate Walker, Farm Sanctuary’s placement coordinator, will deliver the duo. “To travel across the country and meet so many caring individuals willing to take these stunning birds into their homes is a heartwarming reminder of the true meaning of Thanksgiving,” Kate said. “Drucilla and Nick have created a Thanksgiving where everyone, even the turkeys, can be thankful.”

Through Farm Sanctuary’s national Adopt-A-Turkey Project, families can choose to adopt turkeys into their homes while others may decide to “adopt” turkeys who live at Farm Sanctuary through sponsorship donations.
