FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
Hundreds
of Visitors to Attend Farm Sanctuary's Celebration FOR the Turkeys
and Participate in a Compassionate Thanksgiving for All
Watkins Glen,
NY, and Orland, CA - November 14, 2006 - Farm Sanctuary, the nation's
leading farm animal shelter and advocacy organization, is urging people
everywhere to try something new by inviting them to spend Thanksgiving
dinner with rescued turkeys, who will never become a main course. The
Celebration FOR the Turkeys, part of Farm Sanctuary's national
Adopt-A-Turkey Project, brings together humans and turkeys at a
celebration where turkeys are the guests of honor, not part of the menu.
Each year,
hundreds of guests travel from around the country to attend festivities
held in New York and California. This year, the Celebration FOR the
Turkeys will be held on Saturday, November 18, in California and Sunday,
November 19 in New York. In addition to a delicious vegan Thanksgiving
meal - where turkey will not be missed - guests will gather at the famous
Feeding of the Turkeys Ceremony, where rescued turkeys will feast on squash,
lettuce, cranberries, and pumpkin pie.
